Noel & Co.’s Gift Giving Guide

With the holidays quickly approaching, you’re likely rushing to buy the “perfect” gift for friends and family (and before the buying “rush” that is Christmas season).

The holidays are a great opportunity to support companies that care, from their community and workers to the environment.

To help make it a bit easier to find these bada** mission-driven companies, we wanted to share our current top 10 favorite go-to’s for gifts:

Noel & Co.'s Gift Giving Guide featuring companies that make a positive impact

1. Greyston Bakery

This Certified B Corp is on a mission to provide good jobs and job training for individuals who face barriers to employment. Oh, and their brownies are delicious! They’re so good that, in fact, they are also the brownies you find in all of Ben & Jerry’s ice creams! They have fantastic gift packaging options and any time we send them to friends or family they always get rave reviews.

2. Rex Hill Wines/ A to Z Wineworks

Real talk: Rex Hill’s Williamette Valley Pinot Noir is Christina’s favorite wine.

Period.

She first visited Rex Hill’s biodynamic winery at the 2014 B Corp Champions retreat. There she learned about how seriously they take sustainability — from how they farm their vineyards, to how they look at their chemical, water, and carbon footprints. They have lovely corporate gift packages…or you can just buy a case for special occasions.

3. French Broad Chocolate

Kayleigh fell in love with B Corp French Broad Chocolate on her latest trip to Asheville, NC.

In their small factory, they carefully craft their chocolates in small batches. By directly sourcing fine flavor cacao from trusted farmers, they create a deeper connection to the source.

4. Lo & Behold Naturals

A few years ago, Christina learned that the makeup regulation hasn’t changed in the last 30 years.

Yikes!

She started looking for natural skincare options and that’s how she met Lizzie Chadbourne, the founder of Lo & Behold. Lo & Behold’s products smell *amazing* and they are handmade in small batches using locally grown and certified organic ingredients. Lo & Behold has some fantastic gift packages that make it super easy to send a gift your friends and family will love.

If you’re a Triangle NC local, look no further than the Flourish Market for a wide array of fun and meaningful gifts for your loved ones.

All of their products have a higher purchase, so when you shop at Flourish you’re making a positive impact. They also create really helpful gift guides to make your holiday shopping easy.

For every product you buy, they feed a child. To date, they’ve donated more than 7 million+ meals!

7. tentree

If you or your loved ones are in need of go-to clothing staples, Christina has been obsessed with the gray sweatshirt she recently invested in from tentree.

tentree is an environmentally-focused, lifestyle apparel brand that plants ten trees for every item purchased. To date, they have already planted over 25 million trees and have a goal to plant 1 billion trees by 2030.

8. Bombas

Christina got her first pair of Bombas in her stocking during the last holiday season and swears by them!

Bombas is a comfort-focused sock and apparel brand with a mission to help those in need.

For every sock purchased, Bombas donates one to a person experiencing homelessness. They’ve donated more than 50 million items to more than 3,500 community organizations to date. And in addition to socks, this year they launched a new line of slippers!

9. Peacock Alley

While we might be a bit biased because they are a client of ours, Christina and Kayleigh are obsessed with their Soprano Sheets from Peacock Alley, a luxury bedding and bath company.

Peacock Alley sources fabric from the finest, most responsible mills around the world — most notably in Portugal — and then has them sewn in their Dallas, Texas workshop by skilled, local artisans.

And the great thing about them? They proudly give back to their community.

They are the preferred linen source for Dwell with Dignity, a non-profit group of interior designers and volunteers dedicated to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty.

Every year they also host the Community Partners toy drive for vulnerable children during the month of December, and in 2019 they aided in the delivery of over 10k toys.

10. Uncommon Goods

If you’re looking for a unique gift, then Uncommon Goods is the perfect place to look.

As a founding B Corp, Uncommon Goods was created to help people to discover hand-picked, creative designs by independent artists and makers. Uncommon Goods pays team members a living wage and their lowest-wage earners take home double the federal minimum.

The printing on its catalog is done on recycled, FSC-certified paper. Plus, no fur, feathers, pearls, or leather goods are sold on the platform.
